Just a little History of our historic flying site
.The airfield was used by several units during World war II, including the RAF's No2 Air Armament School, which trained air mechanics and armorers from September 1939 to June 1940.
Pembray was also used as a base for Fighter command during the Battle of Britain, and is believed to have been responsible for 25 official kills.
Interestingly another wartime claim to fame was the capture of a FW190 flown by Oberleutnant Armin Faber, who after becoming disorientated after a dogfight landed at RAF Pembrey thinking he was in northern France.
And finally.....we are flying with a couple of the greats, Guy Gibson VC,DFC& bar, and Peter Townsend DFC. also flew from Pembray at times during the war years!
